From forge to fork
Knowlwood cooks in one of Irvine's oldest working buildings. Come for a burger and look around: the blacksmith's tools, cattle brands and old photos are all on display.

A blacksmith shop for Old Town
Frederick Culver built the shop to fix farm machinery and forge horseshoes for Irvine's ranches.

Gene Thomas keeps the forge burning
For 53 years Gene Thomas served the farms around him. His original tools still hang inside.

The first Knowlwood® opens in Anaheim Hills
Knowlwood starts serving the burger that becomes the World's Best® Hamburger®.

Knowlwood® comes to Irvine
After a remodel that began in 1984, the forge became a kitchen. The cattle brands and historic photos stayed on the walls.
